Welcome to the Academy of Cognitive Therapy Website
We are a non-profit mental health organization founded by leading experts in the field of cognitive therapy. We are dedicated to serving those afflicted with mental health disorders by providing referrals and educational resources about cognitive therapy to the general public, and identifying and certifying clinicians who are truly qualified and effective cognitive therapists. The Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT) has a thorough application process specifically for cognitive therapists, including the review of taped cognitive therapy sessions. We are committed to certifying only those cognitive therapists that demonstrate true competence in cognitive therapy.
If you are a consumer, you might be interested to know that cognitive therapy has been clinically demonstrated to be effective for dozens of disorders. To find out more about cognitive therapy and disorders that can be treated, please visit the Consumers section of our website.
If you are a professional interested in becoming certified in cognitive therapy or accessing professional resources, please visit Professionals. Information that may be of interest to both consumers and professionals can be found in General Info.
Help support ACT this holiday season! When you make a purchase on Amazon through ACT’s website by clicking here, ACT earns referral fees that support our efforts to connect individuals with truly effective care. Thank you!
